Valerie showed her cousin's family their rooms, keeping a fake smile on.
As they walked in their rooms to get settled, Valerie ran quietly back into her own suite. She then remembered she didn't have her phone to text her friends. She got up and looked for her phone in her parents' bedroom. They were downstairs, discussing the menu for lunch that day. Valerie found her smartphone and dashed out of there.
