? Valeria texted.
"VALLL! COME OVER HERE, WE'RE GOING TO EAT BREAKFAST!" her mother oh so rudely yelled.

sry cant, gtg. Valerie quickly stuffed her phone back into her bra. She came out of the bathroom and to the dining room. "Val, you're late," her mother scolded. "I'm truly sorry, mother," Valerie batted her eyelashes at her mom. They quickly seated at their namecards and said a prayer of grace.

The chefs came in, holding their food on trays. They pranced around like swans with their ducklings. Her cousins clapped. Valerie wished they would give up this act. She used to be amused by this and then she turned six. They began with their routine around the table. The family politely pointed at the food they want but her cousins grabbed at the rolls and tarts without the chef's consent. Her younger cousin, seated next to her accidentally dropped a danish.

"Patrick!" Valerie exclaimed. She bent down and grabbed the danish before the server did. As Valerie did this, her cousin tried to peek down her dress.
"What are you doing?" she asked, trying to keep her cool.
"Nothing," Patrick sat up and congratulated himself silently. "Why do you keep your phone on your b__bs?" His question silenced the family.
Valerie's aunt asked, "What did you say, Patrick?!" she said, confused.

"I'm asking cousin Val why does she keep her phone in her bra. That's all," Patrick said. He learned about these things two years ago. Better put his vocabulary to use.
"Cousin Val shouldn't do these things," her aunt replied, "Princesses don't do that." Valerie's uncle was snickering behind a cloth napkin.
"Please excuse us," Valerie's mother said. She led Valerie into the foyer.

Valerie huffed as her mother pulled her away from the dining room.
"How many times I told you not to put your phone there?!" her mother yelled. Valerie rolled her eyes to the high ceiling. "I thought you knew better than to do that. Princesses don't do that, okay Val?"
"So, okay... I'm not your average 'princess,'" Valerie said the word in a sarcastic tone.

Valerie's bra vibrated once again. "Give me that!" her mother ordered sternly. Valerie reached guiltily into her bra and pulled her smartphone out. "Thank you," her mother was pleased, "Oh, by the way, you're friend, Blair, says 'hola chicaaa'" Her mother read from the touch screen. Valerie's mother took the phone to her master room and then came back to Valerie. "Let's go back and pretend this never happened," she said, peacefully.

The family tried not to stare at Valerie as she entered the dining room. They also tried not to picture her in only her bra. Valerie plopped down on her seat and quickly finished up her food. "May I be excused?" she looked to her parents.
"No, honey, just wait until everyone's done," her dad answered.

Valerie crossed her arms, she wondered what the rest of her princesses are up to. As the family stood up and the busboys cleared the table, Valerie quickly walked out of sight. "VALL!! You have to show your cousins their room!"

Valerie winced as she climbed up the grand staircase to oen of the guestrooms.
