24 Hour Posts

Okay, so on this other site, W4E, they have a rule. It's that you can't double post. UNLESS the posts are seperated by a 24 hour time limit. I was just putting this out there, would we be interested in this rule even?

I think that's a great rule. Some people, for example ME, only double post when I need to get a thread active, not just to post more.

But merging your posts doesn't do anything bcuz no one bothers to read threads without new posts.

Butwhy go through all the work. If it was a time limit, itd be easier. Adwecould also make a longer time limit.

it would take longer to load the page, and would you want the mods [namely lily, sunny, and i] take their time to merge your posts? no, sorry.

I agree with Furry. The whole point of no double posting is to make sure we don't clutter the forums with unneeded posting. So what if there's 24 hours in between? that's still extra posts we don't need. just do what furry explained up there^^ and it all works out. Sorry Rayne, but I think this isn't exactly a productive idea.

I know this thread is kinda old, but I just wanted to say that I'm a staff member on W4E and having that 24 hour rule REALLY helps! Not saying you guys have to, but I've seen it on other sites and it really helps keep forums active. Just an opinion.

That's what I was trying to say Doggie. It keeps things active instead of coming back a few weeks later and finding no one replied to something that you needed the week b4.

you can copy your old post, delete that, paste it into a new post, and add whatever else you want to say to BUMP the thread up.
just merge your old post to your new one.
if you think this takes a lot of work, then don't double post at all. if you do, then the mods have to merge it, giving us more work to do.

you delete your old one and post a new one, which would show up as a new post.
