Bradin took out his phone. "Yea. In a minute."

"Thanks." she sighed.

Bradin shook his head. "Ryan.."

She waited on the sand.

Bradin headed towards the shore.

She let the sand run through her fingers.

Bradin noticed Erika and walked over. "Hey."

"Hi." she looked up.

Bradin sat on the beach looking into the sunset. "How's that cut?"

"Still hurts.''

Bradin nodded and looked back at the sunset. He sighed.

'What's going on?"

Bradin looked at the sunset.

'Plz tell me."

"Ryan. Has a bad past."

'Of?"

Bradin sighed. Might as well get it out now.. "Ryan was kicked out of his house when he was 15. His mother was an alcoholic and his dad died. He lived with his mom and stepdad who wasn't fond of Ryan. Sandy, a public defender, took Ryan in after the kick out." he started.

A worried expression crept onto her face.

"He had drug problems and alcoholic problems. He's been to juvie 4 times and jail once." he said.

"Oh my God.'"

Bradin looked back into the sunset.

A tear fell down her cheek, making it burn.

Bradin sighed.

'Why didn't he/you tell me?"

"Not many people know." he said.
