You trudge through unknown forests. You've already been driven out of other Clan's territory and you search desperatly for a Clan to join. Suddenly you find yourself surrounded by a patrol of strong, well-fed cats. A sleek tortoise-shell she-cat steps forward. "What are you doing here?" she hisses, "This is DawnClan territory." You hiss at her and bristle defiantly. She seems to look you over. "I am Dawnstar, leader of DawnClan. Will you dare to join?" Without waiting for a reply the patrol turns and heads away.

Will you follow her?? Or turn tail and run?? The choice is YOURS!!

Dawnstar sat under the High rock, speaking with Snowfang.

Snowfang told Dawnstar of the rat attack while they were on patrol. And how Whitestorm, the DawnClan deputy, had died, protecting his Clanmates.

Dawnstar sighed. Whitestorm had been a good friend to her and now he was gone. His body lay in the middle of th camp, cold and blood-stained......

Leafclaw walked into camp,"Dawnstar? all rats have left."

Dawnstar dipped her head and leaped onto the Highrock. She paused before her yowl rang across the clearing, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting."

Fawnstep emerged from the medicine cat's den.

Leafdapple came out of the nursery, her three kit bounding along behind her.

Snowfang padded over to his mate and they sat down.

"Whitestorm has died protecting his Clanmates." Dawnstar's mew rang across the camp. "We honor him for he was a great deputy. A noble and loving warrior."

Snowfang dipped his head in agreement.

Dawnstar took a deep breath. "It is now time to appoint a new deputy," she announced. Her gaze swept across the clearing. "Leafclaw is our new deputy."

Dawnstar dipped her head and leaped down from the Highrock, signaling that the meeting was over. She turned and disappeared into her den.

Bluekit pounced on Flamekit's tail. "Gotcha," she squealed.

Flamekit spun around and nipped his sister's ear.

Silverkit jumped onto them both.

Squirrelflight padded over to Leafclaw. "Congratulations," she meowed.

Firekit: I squeaked, hoping someone would hear me. Me and my sister were dieing, and she was closer to death than me.
Sweetkit: I faintly squeaked before fainting.
